Our
expectations from the E-world 2011 have been surpassed by reality
yet, the joint stand of the companies Baer Industrie-Elektronik GmbH
and iS Software Sales and Service GmbH has enjoyed a lively customer
interest. In addition to many of our customers, we were able to
welcome new and highly interested visitors from home and abroad.
The new release V3.1 of our meter reading system SIGLON with
respect to the enhanced functionality was very well received by the
more than 300 system operators. Another highlight was the launch of
the application Meter2SCADA. This innovation bridges the gap from the
previous energy charging to grid operations (SCADA), using identical,
accurate measured values near real time. Deviations from the previous
billing against the load schedule and the network prediction are
eliminated, first users reported sustainable productivity increases
and very short payback periods.
With Meter2SCADA and components of the new Baer Field Control
system makes the company bear their part about the smart grid.
Specifically, the distribution grid operators could respond to
fluctuations in energy demand, targeted to small producers to be
taken off the network and reconnected.
We thank all visitors for the exciting, breakthrough talks, and
would already like to refer to the upcoming E-world. It takes place
from February 7th-9th 2012 again in Essen.

The World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, UAE, started January
17th 2011 for four days. This summit concentrates on clean
energy like solar or wind power but does not forget other elements
like the availability and cleanliness of water.
General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nayan, Abu Dhabi Crown
Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces
inaugurated the summit along with UN Secretary General Ban
Ki-Moon. Among other head of states or royalties were Asif Ali
Zardari, President of Pakistan, Ólafur Ragnar Grimsson,
President of Iceland, Jose Socrates Carvallo Pinto de Sousa, Prime
Minister of Portugal, Nikolaz Gilauri, Prime Minister of Georgia,
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Guillaume, Crown Prince of
Luxembourg.
More than 600 companies have participated and presented new or
proven technologies which will help to reduce the
carbon dioxide output and to bring clean energy also all
parts of the world. The summit also showed that besides the
technology progress it also needs a firm political
commitment to support renewal energy at least as a start up
to bridge the gap to conventional energy resources.
For the exhibitors the summit proved to be again an event which is
worthwhile participating with many industry professionals and
trade visitors at one place.

Baer at the Middle
East Electricity 2010 in Dubai, UAE
 The MEE2010 in
Dubai, UAE is always also a window to see the prosperity of a
market. The amount of visitors has increased dramatically since
last year. However, a large number of visitors were coming from
surrounding countries like Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and a little
farer also from India and Pakistan or China.
Many high ranking persons up to CEO’s contributed to the success of
this fair. Baer’s product range of hardware, systems and services
met very well the expectation of the fair visitors. The automated
reading software SIGLON for Grid and Industrial Metering is just
the solution many companies were looking for.
As a new application, the Meter to SCADA (M2S) solution connects
the meter data world with the requirements for these data in load
dispatch systems. With industrial areas being refurbished or
completely new constructed M2S could offer a perfect solution.
Baer thanks all visitors for their interest and excellent
discussions to make this an utmost successful fair.
